Poznan and Poznan Airport
With about 550 thousand people, Poznan is the 5th biggest Polish city. Inhabited since the 5th century and becoming the first Polish bishopric in the 10th, it is one of the most important places in Polish history, with a rich cultural heritage.
But it's not just the history that makes Poznan an attractive place to visit. Numerous events and festivals, such as the Malta International Theatre Festival or the Henryk Wieniawski Violin Competition give it a significant place on Europe's cultural map. The city is also an important place for business and industry, with the yearly Poznan International Fair taking place since 1921. Poznan is also one of the candidate cities for the Euro 2012 football championship, which gives it further developmental perspectives.
The Poznan-Lawica Airport, situated about 7 kilometres from the city centre, is one of the most important ones in Poland, offering transport to 1.5 million passengers each year. The Poznan Airport has air connections with many British cities, such as London (Luton and Stansted), Liverpool, Sheffield, or Cork, as well as such European airports as Dublin, Girona, Stockholm and Oslo, plus some of the bigger German ones.
Of course, the best transport possibility from the Poznan Airport to the city is using one of the PoznanShuttle's airport transfer options.
